I'm 22, and trying to join the fire department. I'm already enrolled in EMT courses. Is that a good start? - fire training courses
They said that most firefighters have to have EMT training in my area have, so I went and registered at the EMT are. But some people tell me that I need to get to the first training volunteers, and in this way, and worries about the EMT course later. I wanted to do during my time in volunteer time, so it can be paid as a function of an emergency worker and as volunteers. What is the best, do what?

Yes, it is a good start. My friend is a fireman here in Colorado. He volunteered for about 2 years before I was hired. Another good thing to study, offering too much of the community colleges, "The Science of Fire" of course. You can use a AS, or sometimes all the way to a Master's course (get it, the plane is not taught in community college) if you wish, perhaps, a fire inspector or chief someday. Good luck!
Had a good start! So my friend is in the department. Taken during the EMT, and later worked as an EMT for over a year and finally came to the department.
I hear in my area, if you are a woman who will be the only way the division of the company.
