If he has all the cables connected to the base. This is the piece on the wall brackets. All you should do is screw the thermostat sub-base. This requires a small screwdriver. There should be 3 screws to fasten. Once this piece is connected to the sub-base-just snap on the cover and the thermostat should be feasible. Good luck ..
